�첥��Ƶ Land Acknowledgement

This resolution stands in support of the Indigenous land acknowledgement that has been drafted by the Commencement Committee and encourages its use by all members of the �첥��Ƶ Mountain College community.

Whereas, The �첥��Ƶ Mountain College campus is located on the ancestral homelands (Nungwuh Tuhveep) and traditional territories of the Serrano, Cahuilla, Chemehuevi (Nüwü) and Mojave Peoples;

Whereas, �첥��Ƶ Mountain College stands in solidarity with the Indigenous Peoples against hundreds of years of injustice and recognizes Indigenous Peoples as the original stewards of the lands that we now inhabit;

Whereas, Acknowledgement of Indigenous lands is an important way to honor and respect the Indigenous Peoples, their elders past and present, their future generations, and their traditional territories;

Whereas, �첥��Ƶ Mountain College extends its sincere gratitude to the ancestral caretakers of the land that �첥��Ƶ occupies and gratitude for the use of the land;

Be it therefore Resolved, �첥��Ƶ Mountain College supports the implementation of the following Indigenous land acknowledgement in all aspects of business on �첥��Ƶ Mountain College campus: �첥��Ƶ gratefully acknowledges our college stands (this event is being held) on the traditional lands of the Serrano, Cahuilla, Chemehuevi – Nüwü, and Mojave Peoples and pays its respect to their ancestors, elders, and relatives, past, present, and emerging.
