听Spend an evening on a fast-paced romp through 19th century American history, the Ottoman Empire, Crimean War, Critical Race Theory, Manifest Destiny, slavery, the Civil War, and, of course, camels, and their legendary camel driver, Hi Jolly. Journalist/historian Steve Brown takes us back to the 1850s and spins the true story of legendary camel driver Hi Jolly and the 鈥渃amel corps鈥 of the U.S. Army during the years leading up to the Civil War and beyond, in a fast-paced tale of the Middle East and the American West.

A Night on the Old Spanish Trail

Join journalist/historian Steve Brown for a journey down the Old Spanish Trail, from Santa Fe to Los Angeles, where we鈥檒l learn about the Mexican city of LA in the early and mid-1800s, the trade on the trail (including the slave trade), and the historical American figures who played a part in its use 鈥 and abuse. We鈥檒l meet up with the Native chief and legendary horse thief, Walkara, John Fremont, Kit Carson, and others, with a special focus on the Old Spanish Trail from Mountain Springs, Nevada, through the Mojave Desert. The documentary that Brown has written and produced for public broadcasting and the FNX (First Nations Experience) network, History and Change on the Old Spanish Trail: Mountain Springs to Salt Creek, will be screened as part of the presentation.

Yoga

听This course is suitable for all yoga levels and all yoga bodies and will emphasize building strength and stability in foundational yoga poses. Focus will be on applying therapeutic principles of alignment so that each student can find their fullest expression of each pose. Breathwork, restorative yoga, strength moves, mobility exercises, and self-massage may be incorporated. Each class will end in savanna (relaxation pose) and guided meditations may be offered. Students are encouraged to bring their own yoga mat, two yoga blocks, a strap and if they have it, a yoga blanket or bolster.

I’ve worked as a certified Sign Language Interpreter for over 25 years, and I love creating a learning environment where participants are encouraged to build on their curiosity and enthusiasm so they can communicate in basic Sign Language when they encounter Deaf people in the community.听 Bring your questions and together lets have some fun.

Thank you for your interest in submitting a proposal for a Community Education course at 快播视频 Mountain College.

Please note the following guidelines and requirements for proposal submission:

• Approval Process: All proposals are subject to an approval process. Upon completion, submission, and approval, we will collaborate with instructors to design a schedule.
• Documentation Required: Ensure to include a resume, short biography, course summary, and any relevant certifications with your proposal. This documentation may facilitate the approval process.
• Communication: Please communicate all inquiries and submissions via our email address: communityed@cmccd.edu.
• Deadline: The deadline for proposal submission is Aug 13, 2024. Please Include:

  • Liability Insurance (if applicable)
  • Resume or Short Biography
  • Relevant Certification (if applicable)

Course Schedule: Community Education courses for the Fall 2024 semester may only be held between September 17, 2024 and December 2, 2024.

Location Availability: Courses may be offered online or face-to-face for the Fall 2024 semester.
Student Enrollment and Fees: The instructor determines the fee for the course. 快播视频 Mountain College requires a minimum class enrollment of three students for the class to run,         though the instructor may set a higher minimum enrollment. A student roster will be emailed to you prior to the first class.
Instructor Payment: Upon completion of the course, the instructor will receive 70% of the total student enrollment fees. An invoice will be emailed to you for your signature, indicating     the number of students enrolled and the total amount of payment due.
